Tyler Visit

Today Larry and I went to visit Tyler. We weren't able to see him last Sunday so it was really good to see him! We brought him back a Vegas t-shirt and a pair of basketball shorts which he was very excited about!

He had just eaten some red candy or something and his mouth and tongue were all red. We started laughing and he kept trying to look at his tongue hahah it was so funny!

Larry was telling him that I got retainers that I have to wear for a little while and Tyler thought that was quite funny...I totally can't say my S's it's horrible!

It was really hard because his eyes are hurting him and when he opens them they are pretty blurry. For the most part he kept them shut to visit with us. We were chatting with him though and making him laugh which is always fun!

Larry told him that he got a ticket in Beaver on our way to Vegas and Tyler was telling us he had gotten one there too. For some reason they both thought that was pretty cool...don't ask me why haha.

It was awesome because Tyler really did good at conversating with us even though he wouldn't open his eyes much. He asked us how our Vegas trip was and then him and Larry talked about when they went to Vegas when they were younger. They had some really good memories there and couldn't stop talking about them. They had so much fun when they went and Tyler remembered everything!

Tyler started to get kind of frustrated because it's hard to understand him right now so Larry sat with him and went over the alphabet.

It was really cute because Tyler would watch Larry's mouth when he would pronounce a letter and then try and repeat how Larry moved his tongue and lips. He did awesome at that which did help a little bit when he would try and talk.

I know Tyler is frustrated right now because we can't understand him as well as we used to and he can't open his eyes, but I think we helped him understand that this is just a bump in the road. It's not permanent and he WILL get better! We absolutely loved seeing him and we really missed him! We will see you next Sunday Tyler! We love you!
*By the way for those of you who didnt know, you can view Tyler's blog at http://tylersmiracle.blogspot.com/ or it's on my friends & family list!

Those are some great pictures you got of Tyler and Larry. But, you always get good ones. It really is hard because he really is frustrated. In fact, the other day when we visited him we couldn't understand him and he was tired of repeating himself so he just grabbed the pen and paper and wrote down what he was trying to say. So, he will do it that way, if that's what it takes. But, thanks for visiting TYler. I always look forward to your updates because Tyler always cheers up when you guys are around. Oh, just curious, why do you have to have retainers?

Ashley, I have enjoyed reading your updates on Tyler, even though I really don't know him. I'm glad he is getting better. I'm sure there will be bumps in the road along the way. I wish him the best in his recovery. :)
